Responsibilities:

• Manage construction activities for the site portfolio of projects
• Develop and maintain master plan for the project portfolio and monitor the progress to ensure every project executed per agreed schedule
• Keep updated of upcoming projects for construction and determine site construction supervision resources and contractor resource availability and take action
• Perform and coordinate constructability review for all capital projects
• Interface with Operations and Maintenance for permit planning and weekly coordination
• Manage overall Safety of projects activities and ensure incident free completion of all projects
• Assess contractor performance and feedback through Key Performance Index and incentive awards and shape the behaviour for better performance
• Responsible for multi-disciplinary Construction management

Requirements:

• Degree / Diploma in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 to 10 years of construction management experience in Petrochemical, Refinery and pharmaceutical plants
• Experience in management of site construction projects and portfolio of projects concurrently
• Experience in managing site contractors and supervisors and delivered successful projects
• A competitive remuneration package based on the prevailing conditions, policies and legislation in the country of employment will be offered for this position.

GENERAL SUMMARY

Under general direction of the Lead Mechanical Engineer, be responsible for the preparation of mechanical engineering aspects on assigned projects.

KNOWLEDGE

Mechanical Engineering degree/diploma with 5+ years experience in the offshore petroleum production and refining industries.

General knowledge of oil and gas production, hydrocarbon processing and oil/water separation.

Strong knowledge of international mechanical design codes commonly used in the petroleum industry - e.g. codes for pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and piping. Some knowledge of structural design would also be beneficial. Also a good knowledge of the various software packages used for the design of Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers and Piping. And the ability to interpret the output of these processes. And make recommendations for revisions if so desired for correctness.

Knowledge of fabrication techniques for vessels, piping and structure etc, and also the associated testing techniques and established industry QC requirements.

Knowledge in personal computers, spreadsheets and word processing, Autocad as well as good written and verbal communication skills.

SKILLS

Ability to correctly interpret client mechanical and equipment specifications in order to create product data sheets and engineering documents etc for issue to the client and sub-suppliers as required.

Ability to assist Lead/Senior Mechanical Engineers in resolving technical queries on sub-contract mechanical equipment suppliers and fabricators during design and manufacturing stages.

Ability to be aware of sub-supplier costs, and the effect of his actions and the actions of sub-suppliers on costs to Petreco.

Appreciation of the requirements to meet deadlines, and the effect of his actions on sub-suppliers to meet their deadlines.

Ability to relate well with communication and interpersonal skills and be responsible to the Lead Mechanical Engineer to ensure program, schedule, quality and delivery milestones are maintained.

Ability to work well within teams of multi discipline engineers.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Job position will be principally office based, though during construction and assembly phases of the project there could be a requirement to spend some time at nominated equipment suppliers and/or fabricators.
